Practice Like A Pro
I hope you were able to watch the Masters. It was very exciting and filled with all of the expected drama. That is why the Masters is arguably the greatest golf tournament of them all. One thing that I always take away from watching the Masters is just how good the tour pros are in the short game. Their excellence in the short game is what allows them to shoot low scores.
Phil Mickelson hit a couple of really bad drives on Sunday, but was able to hit remarkable pitch shots to save par. He played to a bogey free 67. Anthony Kim put on a putting exhibition to shoot 65. One great pitch shot after another, followed by putts hit on the perfect line and with perfect pace. Just how do they do it?
I would like to share with you a couple of great sources of this information. Dr. Bob Rotella's dvd "Practice Like A Pro", and his book "Putting Out Of Your Mind". Listen to tour players talk about the importance of the short game and how to practice. Also learn the correct mental approach to putting.
While we are talking about the short game and the Masters, you may want to check out Phil Mickelson's book, "Secrets Of The Short Game". Find out the three times Masters champion's thoughts and techniques.
